Job summary

SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd is seeking Security Officers for the Elandsfontein Branch to secure premises and protect people and assets. You will manage access, search individuals and belongings, ensure PPE distribution, and verify that items leaving site are documented.

The role requires PSIRA Grade C registration, Grade 12, and 2–3 years of relevant experience. You will conduct regular patrols, report suspicious activity, and adhere to all company policies in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education is required.
• PSIRA Grade C registration is mandatory.
• 2–3 years of security experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Control access and egress at SA Metal properties by registering and operating gates.
• Search pedestrians, vehicles and belongings exiting premises.
• Distribute PPE to customers and collect it on exit.
• Ensure documentation accompanies items leaving site.
• Perform pre-access checks such as breathalyzer tests where required.
• Patrol assigned areas at regular intervals.
• Observe and report suspicious activity.
• Maintain the incident report book up to date.
• Adhere to company policies at all times.
• Complete ad-hoc tasks as directed by management.

The Security Department requires Security Officers at the Elandsfontein Branch who will be responsible for the below security tasks:

• Ensure access and egress is controlled at all SA Metal properties by completing the necessary registers and operating the gates.
• Searching pedestrians, vehicles and personal belongings of any person(s) exiting SA Metal premises.
• Ensure that all customers and visitors are issued with PPE when entering a SA Metal yard and that the PPE is returned after their visit
• Ensure that any item(s) leaving the SA Metal premises is accompanied by the relevant documentation
• Ensure that all company procedures are adhered to before granting access to staff and visitors e.g. breathalyzer tests are conducted and passed.
• Ensure that all the assigned areas are patrolled at regular intervals.
• Ensure that all Company policies and procedures are fully adhered to at all times.
• Observe and report suspicious activities.
• Keep the Incident Report Book up to date.
• Ensure that empty and full Containers/Bins are booked in and out and secured
• Ensure that SA Metal's property and assets are protected
• Ensure that all persons on SA Metal premises are protected
• Ad-hoc tasks as per instruction from management

Qualifying Experience

• Grade 12
• Grade C, PSIRA registered
• 2 to 3 years relevant experience
