Placements24 seeks an experienced Senior Telecoms Network Security Specialist to lead security initiatives for a large telecom network in Mahikeng. You will design, implement, and enforce security across platforms, and drive vulnerability management and incident response to protect assets.

The role requires 8+ years in network security within telecommunications, a bachelor's in Information Security or Computer Science, and certifications such as CISSP/CCSP are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of network security experience in telecom networks.
• CISSP or CCSP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network security infrastructure (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, WAFs).
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Lead incident response for security breaches (investigation, containment, remediation).
• Monitor logs and implement proactive threat detection and prevention measures.
• Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to secure network design and operations.
• Stay updated on threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques in telecoms.
