Placements24 is seeking a diligent Telecommunications Technician to join the operations team in Tembisa. This field‑based role involves installing, maintaining and repairing telecom equipment to ensure reliable service for the community.

You will install fiber optic cables, routers and modems; diagnose issues, perform routine maintenance, and document all service calls while following safety rules and company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in telecommunications or a related field is a plus.
• Proven experience as Telecommunications Technician or in a field-based role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals; safety-conscious approach.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including fiber optic cables, routers, and modems.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues reported by customers or detected through network monitoring systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on network infrastructure to prevent service disruptions.
