About the Role

Our client seeks a diligent and skilled Fiber Optic Technician to join their operations team in Tembisa . This role is essential for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks that form the backbone of our client's telecommunications services. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and performance of fiber optic cables, connectors, and related equipment, working directly at customer sites and network infrastructure points. The successful candidate will be hands-on, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering high-quality service in the dynamic telecoms landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and splice fiber optic cables according to industry standards and project specifications.
• Perform diagnostic tests and use specialized equipment (e.g., OTDR) to identify and repair faults in fiber optic networks.
• Inspect and test newly installed or repaired fiber optic systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Document all installation, splicing, and testing activities accurately.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures while working at heights or in confined spaces in Tembisa .
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for fiber optic related issues.

Requirements
