Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Telecommunications Technician to join its installation and maintenance crew in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role covers installation, repair, and maintenance of voice, data, and video networks across multiple client sites.

The ideal candidate will have experience in telecommunications, fiber optics, copper cabling, and wireless tech, with the ability to work independently and manage several tasks at once.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Telecommunications Technician or in a related field.
• Knowledge of telecommunications systems, including fiber optics, copper cabling, and wireless technologies.
• Proficiency with testing equipment for signal analysis and fault finding.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Good understanding of network infrastructure and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain telecommunication equipment such as routers, switches, modems, and PABX systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in voice and data networks, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
• Run and terminate cabling for voice and data systems, ensuring proper connections.
• Perform diagnostic tests on equipment and systems to ensure optimal functionality.
• Provide technical support to clients and document all work performed.
