Placements24 in Upington, Northern Cape, is seeking a hands-on Telecommunications Technician to join our operations team on-site. You will install, test, and maintain telecommunications equipment, troubleshoot faults, and restore service quickly for customers in the region.

The ideal candidate holds a qualification in electronics or telecommunications, with experience in DSL, fiber optics, and wireless tech, plus proficiency with diagnostic tools and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Electronics/telecommunications qualification or certification required.
• Proven experience as a Telecommunications Technician or similar role expected.
• Knowledge of DSL, fiber optics and wireless technologies required.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and test equipment expected.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to on-site service in Upington.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission telecommunications equipment including modems, routers, and cabling.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and preventative servicing on network infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults and service issues reported by customers.
• Respond to emergency call-outs to restore service quickly.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and adheres to industry standards and company procedures.
