Placements24 is seeking a Telecommunications Field Engineer to service the Upington region. You will install, configure, test telecom equipment including base stations, microwave links, and fiber optic systems, and perform preventive maintenance.

In this hands-on role, you will diagnose field faults, respond to emergencies, document activities, and uphold safety standards while traveling in remote locations across the Northern Cape.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Engineer or Technician in telecommunications.
• Strong understanding of RF principles, transmission systems, and network protocols.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and test equipment for network analysis.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in remote locations.
