Placements24 is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician based in Vereeniging to install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment at customer sites. You will be the face of the company in the field, ensuring reliable network operations and high-quality service for the Gauteng region.

The role requires strong technical skills, customer interaction, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Proven field service experience in telecommunications or related tech fields.
• Hands-on installation and troubleshooting of telecom hardware.
• Solid understanding of basic networking concepts and connectivity.
• Strong problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.
• Clear communication and customer-facing professionalism.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment at customer sites.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative repairs on network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by customers or detected via monitoring.
• Respond to service calls promptly with effective solutions.
• Ensure installations comply with company standards and safety rules.
• Maintain accurate service reports and equipment logs.
