Job summary

Blu Label Unlimited is seeking an experienced Technology Development Lead (Mobile Engineering Manager) to drive the design, development and delivery of scalable, secure applications from Grayston Drive Sandton. You will mentor developers, set coding standards and lead the adoption of modern practices across teams.

Responsibilities include leading architectural design, implementing CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, and ensuring high-quality software aligned with business roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science majoring in Computer Science or equivalent prior learning.
• 10+ years' progressive experience as a Senior Software Developer.
• Expert-level Coding Skills in Java and SpringBoot.
• Expert experience with API’s and microservices using REST, SOAP and GraphQL.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Job Purpose

Responsible for the programming and development of Blu Label Groups applications and supporting software. Provides advisory support through refining designs, practices, tools and processes to ensure the delivery of quality products to internal and external customers.

Fully accountable for software quality and technical excellence.

Coaching and mentoring developers, and fully accountable for defining and driving maturity of practices and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Development Lifecycle

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, event-driven transaction processing applications and database solutions.
• Provide effort estimates for projects, sprints, and development activities.
• Develop high-quality software in line with company standards, including testing, code reviews, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors to troubleshoot issues, enhance products, and implement improvements.
