Job summary

Blu Label Unlimited is seeking an experienced Technology Development Lead (Mobile Engineering Manager) to drive the design, development and delivery of scalable, secure applications from Grayston Drive Sandton. You will mentor developers, set coding standards and lead the adoption of modern practices across teams.

Responsibilities include leading architectural design, implementing CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, and ensuring high-quality software aligned with business roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science majoring in Computer Science or equivalent prior learning.
• 10+ years' progressive experience as a Senior Software Developer.
• Expert-level Coding Skills in Java and SpringBoot.
• Expert experience with API’s and microservices using REST, SOAP and GraphQL.
• Experience in CI/CD environment through Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Database development on SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with Messaging Queues and Kafka.
• Cloud implementations on Azure and AWS.
• Kubernetes/Docker and IaC using YAML; test-driven development.
• Experience with Enterprise Agile environments.
• Deep system design and architecture expertise.
• Experience with DDD in microservices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable applications and databases.
• Provide effort estimates for projects, sprints, and activities.
• Develop high-quality software including testing, reviews, and documentation.
• Collaborate with teams, clients, and vendors to troubleshoot and improve products.
• Resolve complex technical challenges and reduce technical debt.
• Lead technical design, architecture, and release processes.
• Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
• Ensure solutions align with standards and roadmaps.
• Oversee escalated support requests within SLA requirements.
• Analyse requirements and recommend best-fit solutions with delivery estimates.
• Support knowledge sharing and capability development.
