Job summary

Kontak Recruitment is seeking a Technical Sales Representative in Durban to grow sales, develop new business and manage existing customer relationships. You will work with industrial and commercial customers to assess requirements, recommend foam products and provide quotations.

The role involves collaboration with internal teams to ensure orders meet specifications and are delivered on time. A solid sales background, commercial awareness and interest in technical products are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent.
• At least two years’ sales experience in technical/industrial environment.
• Experience in B2B sales and managing customer accounts.
• Track record of meeting sales targets and building relationships.
• Experience preparing quotations and understanding customer specifications.
• Good communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Computer literacy including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good organisational skills and ability to work independently.
• Diploma in Sales/Marketing/Business or related field is advantageous.
• Experience with foam products, technical drawings or ERP/CRM like Syspro is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities and grow existing customer accounts.
• Conduct customer visits, present products and work toward sales targets.
• Prepare quotations and negotiate pricing within approved limits.
• Understand customer applications and recommend suitable foam products.
• Develop product knowledge on foam properties and capabilities.
• Liaise with technical and production teams on customised orders.
• Build relationships with buyers, engineers and production teams.
• Coordinate with production, planning, quality and dispatch for on-time delivery.

Contract Type: Full-time, permanent. On site with Travel. Valid Drivers Licence and Own Reliable Vehicle (Essential).

Salary Offer: R28 493.00 CTC Per Month + Commission.

Minimum Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify new business opportunities and grow existing customer accounts.
• Conduct customer visits, present products and work towards agreed sales targets.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing within authorised limits and follow up on outstanding proposals.
• Understand customer applications and recommend suitable foam products for sealing, insulation, cushioning, packaging, protection and buoyancy.
• Develop product knowledge, including foam properties, specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
• Liaise with technical and production teams on customised products and specific customer requirements.
• Build relationships with buyers, engineers, production teams and other customer decision-makers.
• Respond to enquiries, follow up on orders and assist with customer complaints where necessary.
• Coordinate with production, planning, quality and dispatch teams to ensure orders are processed correctly and delivery expectations are met.
• Maintain accurate customer records, quotations, sales forecasts and CRM information.
• Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities in the market.
