Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' sales experience, preferably in technical/industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Experience in B2B sales and managing customer accounts.
• Track record of meeting sales targets and building customer relationships.
• Experience preparing quotations and understanding customer specifications.
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good organisational skills and ability to work independently.
• Diploma in Sales/Marketing/Business Management/Engineering preferred; foam product/ERP/CRM familiarity advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities and grow existing customer accounts.
• Conduct customer visits, present products and work toward sales targets.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing and follow up on proposals.
• Understand customer applications and recommend suitable foam products.
• Develop product knowledge on foam properties and manufacturing capabilities.
• Coordinate with technical and production teams on customised products.
• Build relationships with buyers, engineers and decision-makers.
• Respond to enquiries, follow up orders and assist with complaints.
• Coordinate with production, planning, quality and dispatch to meet delivery expectations.
• Maintain accurate customer records, quotations and CRM data.
• Monitor competitor activity and identify market opportunities.

Overview:

Our client is looking for a Technical Sales Representative to grow sales, develop new business and manage relationships with existing customers.

The successful candidate will work with industrial and commercial customers to understand their requirements, recommend suitable foam products and provide quotations. The role also involves working closely with internal teams to ensure orders meet customer specifications and are delivered on time.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 / Matric or an equivalent qualification.
• At least two years' sales experience, preferably in a technical, industrial, manufacturing, foam or plastics environment.
• Experience in B2B sales and managing customer accounts.
• A track record of working towards sales targets and developing customer relationships.
• Experience preparing quotations and understanding customer specifications.
• Good communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Advantageous: A diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, Engineering or a related field. Experience with foam products, technical drawings, product data sheets, ERP systems or CRM platforms such as Syspro will be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify new business opportunities and grow existing customer accounts.

• Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing within authorised limits and follow up on outstanding proposals.
• Understand customer applications and recommend suitable foam products for sealing, insulation, cushioning, packaging, protection and buoyancy.
• Develop product knowledge, including foam properties, specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
• Liaise with technical and production teams on customised products and specific customer requirements.
• Build relationships with buyers, engineers, production teams and other customer decision-makers.
• Respond to enquiries, follow up on orders and assist with customer complaints where necessary.
• Coordinate with production, planning, quality and dispatch teams to ensure orders are processed correctly and delivery expectations are met.
• Maintain accurate customer records, quotations, sales forecasts and CRM information.
• Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities in the market.
