A leading organisation within the industrial and manufacturing sector is seeking a Technical Sales Consultant to join their Gauteng team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, growing existing customer relationships and providing technical sales support across a range of industrial products and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and acquire new business opportunities within the industrial sector.
- Grow and maintain existing customer relationships through cross-selling and upselling.
- Prepare proposals, quotations and service level agreements.
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales support, including product education and technical advice.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline and track prospects throughout the sales process.
- Manage customer contacts and sales activities using the required CRM and sales planning systems.
- Provide accurate and timely sales and prospect information to management.
- Maintain regular communication with the workshop regarding customer equipment repairs.
- Manage product pricing and communicate price increases to customers.
- Work towards achieving or exceeding monthly turnover and gross profit targets.
- Conduct process evaluations and identify opportunities for continuous improvement using available technology.
- Manage relevant contracts and projects, including equipment installation and operator training.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' sales experience within the industrial sector.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing or process environment.
- Experience working with technical products and/or mechanical exposure.
- Experience in prospecting and business development.
- Experience with CRM systems or structured sales processes.
- Technical aptitude in areas such as pneumatics, hydraulics or mechanical systems.
- Experience with production processes or automation.
- At least a Matric qualification.
- Mechanical/process theory exposure will be advantageous.
- Valid Driver's Licence and reliable transport.

- Ability to take ownership of product/process trials from inception through to analysis.
- Good administrative and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
