Job summary

AFMS Group in Mitchells Plain, Western Cape seeks a Facilities Technical Manager to lead technical maintenance, OHSE compliance, and security for the estate and project. You will drive CAFM and contract management while guiding budgets and profitability.

The role requires a technical qualification in the built environment, 10+ years' experience, and strong leadership, communication, and contractual skills. A driver’s license and willingness to work extended hours are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12.
• Technical qualification in built environment (preferably BTech Engineering).
• Minimum 10 years built environment experience.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, building and HVAC systems.
• Solid financial risk management experience.
• Exposure to OHSA, municipal bylaws and Labour Relations Acts.
• ISO9001 and ISO18001 experience.
• MS Office proficiency and CAFM system experience.
• Own transport and a valid driver's license.
• Willingness to work beyond normal hours and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee estate and building compliance and maintenance.
• Lead technical maintenance, CAFM system, and project development.
• Manage budgets, profitability, procurement and contracts.
• Ensure Health and Safety compliance and security measures.
• Develop and implement process improvements and risk controls.
• Mentor staff and manage performance using formal processes.
