Job summary

Isilumko Staffing (JHB) is seeking an experienced Manager: Facilities to oversee facilities, infrastructure, maintenance and construction projects across its campus and national sites. The role is based in Sandringham, Gauteng and requires a strong leadership presence to drive safety, quality and compliance.

The role demands extensive facilities management experience, proven supervisory skills, and ability to manage multiple national sites with budget accountability.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in engineering, property management, construction science or architecture (NQF 6).
• Minimum 8 years’ facilities management experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ supervisory/management experience.
• At least 2 years’ infrastructure-related experience.
• Experience in procurement and budget management.
• Knowledge of OHSA and facilities compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage facilities, infrastructure, maintenance, security, cleaning and gardening services.
• Oversee major and minor construction, renovation and infrastructure projects across sites.
• Manage contractors, procurement processes and project budgets.
• Ensure buildings, laboratories, equipment and facilities meet health, safety and compliance standards.
• Lead and manage the facilities team.
• Develop and maintain facilities SOPs and compliance requirements.
• Oversee fleet, relocations and accommodation requirements.
• Manage budgets, identify risks and ensure projects are delivered within budget and timeframes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage facilities, infrastructure, maintenance, security, cleaning and gardening services.
• Oversee major and minor construction, renovation and infrastructure projects .
• Manage contractors, procurement processes and project budgets.
• Ensure buildings, laboratories, equipment and facilities meet required health, safety and compliance standards .
• Lead and manage the facilities team.
• Develop and maintain facilities-related SOPs and compliance requirements .
• Oversee fleet, relocations and accommodation requirements.
• Manage budgets, identify risks and ensure projects are delivered within budget and timeframes.

Minimum Requirements:

• 3-year Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Property Management, Construction Science or Architecture (NQF 6) .
• Minimum 8 years’ Facilities Management experience .
• Minimum 5 years’ supervisory/management experience .
• At least 2 years’ infrastructure-related experience .
• Experience in procurement and budget management .
• Knowledge of construction, OHSA and facilities compliance .
• Experience managing facilities teams in a large organisation.
• Valid Driver’s Licence.
• Project Management qualification will be advantageous.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
