Job summary

Glencore in Johannesburg is seeking a Team Leader for mining operations to oversee mining crews, ensure safety, quality, and compliance with standards.

You will communicate daily mine plans, assign tasks, and support blasting activities with the Miner while guiding performance. The role requires Grade 12, Competent B certificate, and hands-on experience in board and pillar or trackless mining.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
• Competent B certificate is required.
• Experience in Board and Pillar, trackless mining is preferred.
• Previous Team Leader (Mining) experience is essential.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal) are essential.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the functions performed by the mining teams to ensure quality performance according to standards.
• Assisting the Miner with safe blasting of underground excavations and enforcing mine standards and procedures to keep workplaces safe.
• Leading the team and managing their performance with the assistance of the Miner.
• Communicating daily mining plans and allocating responsibilities to the crew.
• Ensuring compliance with the company’s policies and procedures.
