Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as a System Analyst or similar role.
• Experience analysing complex enterprise environments, ideally in financial services.
• Strong knowledge of system integrations, APIs and data flows.
• Experience documenting functional and technical requirements.
• Experience working with Agile, hybrid or waterfall delivery.
• Degree or equivalent in Information Systems, IT or related field; IIBA/Agile BA advantageous.

System Analyst - Contract - Hybrid We are seeking an experienced System Analyst to join a delivery-focused technology team within a leading financial services organisation. This is a 12-month contract role based in Cape Town, offering an opportunity to work within a collaborative, fast-paced environment supporting digital and technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, systems-oriented professional who can analyse business and technical requirements, understand system dependencies and integrations, and translate requirements into clear technical specifications for delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Analysis & Requirements

• Analyse and document business, functional and technical requirements.
• Translate business requirements into detailed system specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Analyse existing systems, applications and processes to identify gaps, dependencies and improvement opportunities.
• Define system functionality, business rules, data requirements and integration requirements.
• Work closely with developers, architects, product owners and technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered.

System Integration & Technical Analysis

• Analyse system interfaces, APIs, integrations and data flows.
• Document end-to-end system processes and integration points.
• Identify system dependencies, impacts and potential technical risks.
• Support solution design by providing detailed analysis of current and future-state systems.
• Investigate system issues and assist delivery teams with root-cause analysis and resolution.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Facilitate requirements sessions, workshops and working sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
• Act as the link between business users and technical delivery teams.
• Communicate technical and system concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Manage and clarify requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Delivery & Agile

• Support Agile delivery teams with backlog refinement, sprint planning and requirements clarification.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, QA and Architects throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Support system testing, user acceptance testing and defect resolution where required.
• Ensure system requirements and documentation remain aligned throughout delivery.
• Contribute to digital transformation, system implementation and platform modernisation initiatives.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years' experience as a System Analyst, Systems Analyst or Business Systems Analyst.
• Strong experience in systems analysis within complex enterprise environments.
• Financial services experience is required; insurance experience will be highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of system integrations, APIs, interfaces and data flows.
• Proven experience documenting functional and technical requirements.
• Experience with process modelling, system analysis and technical documentation.
• Experience working with developers, architects and technical delivery teams.
• Experience working within Agile, hybrid or waterfall environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems, IT, Business Analysis or a related field.
• BA/System Analysis certifications such as IIBA, Agile BA or equivalent would be advantageous.
