Job summary

Ergasia Placements seeks a vigilant IT/security technician in Bloemfontein to install, monitor and troubleshoot surveillance systems in line with SOPs. The role also covers setting up access control systems, including biometric devices, keypads and intercoms, with a focus on reliable operation and security compliance.

Applicants should have a National Senior Certificate (NQF4), at least 3 years in IT and 2 years in IT hardware and CCTV, plus a valid RSA driver's license with their own transport.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate or equivalent (NQF4) is required.
• Minimum 3 years experience in an IT environment.
• At least 2 years exposure to IT hardware, network infrastructure, CCTV and access control.
• Valid RSA driver’s license with own transport.

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor, repair and troubleshoot surveillance systems per SOP.
• Inspect surveillance systems for signs of malfunction.
• Install, configure and maintain access control systems including biometric devices, keypads, turnstiles, intercoms and electronic locks.
• Perform cable installations and verify compliance per SOP.
• Suggest locations for equipment setup and verify CCTV cameras are recording and functioning, reporting non-conformances.
