Job summary

Headhunters is seeking a Support Engineer to join our client in Paarl, Western Cape. You will work across a diverse infrastructure, resolving hardware, software and network issues while ensuring secure IT operations.

The ideal candidate has a degree or diploma in IT, strong systems knowledge, and experience with Windows, Linux, Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, VMware and Hyper‑V. You will diagnose, implement improvements and support day‑to‑day IT tasks.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• Solid understanding of computer systems, networking principles and IT infrastructure
• Experience diagnosing and resolving hardware/software issues
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Exposure to Microsoft 365, Azure and Intune
• Knowledge of VMware/Hyper‑V environments
• Understanding IT security principles and best practices

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and support hardware, software, and network systems
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and user issues
• Respond promptly to technical support requests and inform users of progress
• Provide clear technical guidance and training when required
• Document support activities and system changes accurately
• Collaborate with IT team to maintain reliable day-to-day operations
• Perform system upgrades and security improvements
• Maintain security standards across the IT environment
• Troubleshoot issues and escalate complex cases as needed
• Take ownership of tasks through to completion
• Share knowledge and contribute to team capability
