About the Role

Our client, a prominent global leader in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a highly strategic and experienced Supply Chain Director to lead their extensive operations in South Africa. This critical leadership position, headquartered in Pretoria, Gauteng , will be responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain, from procurement and manufacturing to logistics and distribution, ensuring optimal efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and resilience. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of complex global supply chains, a proven track record in driving operational excellence, and exceptional leadership capabilities within the food and beverage domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute end-to-end supply chain strategies that align with the company's global and local objectives.
• Manage all aspects of procurement, demand planning, inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.
• Optimize logistics and distribution networks to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
• Implement best practices in supply chain management, focusing on efficiency, quality, and sustainability.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably within the FMCG food and beverage industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in global sourcing, demand/supply planning, warehousing, and transportation management.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing successful supply chain strategies in a large, complex organization.
• Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in supply chain planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced analytics.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong understanding of international trade and customs regulations.
• Based in or able to relocate to Pretoria, Gauteng .
