EdUpStairs is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor with a basic understanding of cleaning operations and admin tasks to oversee housekeeping and related services in Pretoria. A minimum educational level and practical insight into OHS are required, while two years of relevant cleaning experience gives applicants an advantage.
The role emphasises effective communication, stakeholder coordination and practical problem solving to maintain hygienic, safe work environments and accurate records management.
A minimum of Grade 9/ ABET level 4.
(A minimum of two years relevant cleaning service environment experience will be used as an added advantage).
Basic knowledge of cleaning, Office Administration, Operating cleaning equipment, Occupational health and safety, Personnel practices and Labour
Relations Act.
Skills: Effective communication skills, numeracy, observation abilities, ability to work with consultants, professionals and staff at various
levels, relationship management, interpersonal and diplomacy skills, analytical thinking, problem solving skills, decision making skills, conflict resolution,
motivational skills.
Manage and control equipment and materials: identify resource requirements and special operational needs.
Monitor the condition and availability of equipment.
Ensure replacement or repair of faulty/outdated equipment.
Supervise the provisioning of housekeeping, cleaning, safeguarding & maintenance services: -Ensure cleanliness, tidiness, hygiene and safety of all
areas allocated for cleaning.
Perform administration functions associated to housekeeping & cleaning services.
Identify hazards in the buildings/offices related to fire and electricity.
Perform physical inspection of cleaned areas-: Ensure the removal of refuse in the offices and around the buildings.
Ensure the inspection of logistics and physical environment to ensure clean maintained environment adherence to OHS.
Perform general supervision and support the administration of the Section-: Identify staff requirements in terms of training and development.
Review employees’ performance.
support the administration of human resources.
Assist with maintenance of discipline and time keeping.
Assist with records management.
