Job summary

EdUpStairs is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor with a basic understanding of cleaning operations and admin tasks to oversee housekeeping and related services in Pretoria. A minimum educational level and practical insight into OHS are required, while two years of relevant cleaning experience gives applicants an advantage.

The role emphasises effective communication, stakeholder coordination and practical problem solving to maintain hygienic, safe work environments and accurate records management.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 9/ABET level 4.
• Two years of relevant cleaning service experience is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning, Office Administration, Operating cleaning equipment, OHS, Personnel practices and Labour Relations Act.

Responsibilities

• Manage and control equipment and materials: identify resource requirements and special operational needs.
• Monitor the condition and availability of equipment.
• Ensure replacement or repair of faulty/outdated equipment.
• Supervise housekeeping, cleaning, safeguarding & maintenance services to ensure cleanliness, tidiness, hygiene and safety of all areas.
• Perform administration functions associated to housekeeping & cleaning services.
• Identify hazards in the buildings/offices related to fire and electricity.
• Perform physical inspection of cleaned areas to ensure waste removal and adherence to OHS.
• Support HR administration and records management; assist with discipline and timekeeping.
