Placements24 seeks a Subsurface Geologist to join our New Ventures team in Bloemfontein, adopting a hybrid work model. You will lead regional studies, integrate geological datasets, and help shape future exploration campaigns.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or PhD in Geology or geophysics, with 5–7 years in frontier basins and proficiency in Petrel, ArcGIS, and Kingdom. Strong analytics and communication are essential for success in a collaborative energy team.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or related geoscience discipline.
• 5-7 years of experience in exploration geology, focusing on frontier or emerging basins.
• Proficiency in geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, ArcGIS, Kingdom).
• Strong understanding of regional tectonics, sedimentology, and petroleum systems.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, based out of Bloemfontein.
