Job summary

Qualifications

• National Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as Substation Technician or similar electrical maintenance role.
• Experience with high-voltage equipment and test instruments.
• Knowledge of electrical safety principles and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Willingness to work outdoors and respond to emergency call-outs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and testing of substation equipment.
• Install, commission, and troubleshoot electrical systems within substations.
• Respond to power system disturbances and perform emergency repairs.
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and manuals for maintenance.
• Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
