Qualifications

• BEng or BTech in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Power Systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design, construction, or maintenance of electrical substations.
• Solid understanding of high voltage equipment, protection schemes, and earthing systems.
• Proficiency with substation design software and simulation tools.
• Experience in project management and contract administration is a plus.
• Strong safety mindset and commitment to regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and specification of substation equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protection relays.
• Oversee the construction and commissioning phases of substation projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Develop and implement substation maintenance programs, including testing and inspection schedules.
• Perform root cause analysis for substation equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure all substation designs and operations adhere to relevant industry codes, standards (e.g., NRS, IEC), and regulations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to field operations and maintenance teams.
