Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Structural Engineer in Stellenbosch to design, analyze, and oversee building structures for residential and commercial projects. You will work with architects and construction teams to ensure safety, stability, and compliance with South African codes, contributing to the built environment of Stellenbosch.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with at least 5 years of design experience and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design with a strong project portfolio
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (AutoCAD, Revit Structure, Prokon)
• Knowledge of South African structural design codes and standards

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems for new buildings and renovations
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications and calculations
• Ensure compliance with SANS 10400 and other relevant codes
• Conduct site visits to verify construction adherence to design
• Collaborate with architects, developers, contractors and local authorities in Stellenbosch
• Model structural behavior using analysis software under various loads
