About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. This role focuses on the structural design of a diverse range of commercial and high-end residential buildings. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, stability, and integrity of structures from concept through to construction, collaborating closely with architects, developers, and construction professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for multi-story commercial buildings, residential complexes, and bespoke architectural projects.
- Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using advanced engineering software.
- Ensure designs adhere to the National Building Regulations (NBR) and relevant South African Standards (SANS).
- Collaborate effectively with architects and clients to achieve aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound designs.
- Provide construction support, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and conducting site inspections.
- Undertake feasibility studies and provide preliminary structural advice for new developments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; professional registration (Pr Eng) is essential.
- A minimum of 6 years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering design.
- Proven experience in the design of concrete and steel structures for commercial and residential applications.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as Prokon, SAP2000, or ETABS, and CAD drafting.
- Strong understanding of building codes, construction materials, and building methodologies.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving capabilities.
