Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Telecom Infrastructure Planner for a hybrid role in Bloemfontein, Free State. You will design fiber routes, wireless tower siting, and central office layouts, while coordinating with regulators and utilities to secure permits.

You should have a Bachelor's in Engineering and at least 3 years in telecom network planning, with strong CAD/GIS skills and a solid grasp of regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Electrical, Civil) or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in telecom network planning or design.
• Strong knowledge of fiber optic and wireless technologies.
• Proficient in CAD (AutoCAD) and GIS for mapping.
• Familiar with local regulations and permitting processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term and short-term telecom infrastructure expansion plans.
• Design fiber routes, wireless tower sites, and central office layouts.
• Perform feasibility studies and site surveys.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specs, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate permits and rights-of-way with authorities.
• Collaborate with field teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Analyze existing infrastructure for upgrades.
• Maintain network databases and docs.
• Evaluate new technologies for plans.
