Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a strategic Telecoms Network Planning Engineer in Upington to design and evolve the company’s telecommunications network. You will conduct capacity planning, analyze network performance data, and develop long‑term strategies to meet future demands and technological advancements.

You will lead expansion plans, evaluate new technologies, and produce detailed design documentation, collaborating with engineering and operations to ensure smooth implementation in the Northern

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in telecommunications network design and planning.
• Strong understanding of IP networking, DWDM, mobile network architecture (4G/5G), and related technologies.
• Proficiency in network simulation and planning tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic plans for network expansion, upgrades, and new technology deployments.
• Conduct capacity planning and traffic analysis to ensure network scalability and performance.
• Evaluate new network technologies and vendor solutions for potential implementation.
• Create detailed network design documentation, including logical and physical diagrams.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to ensure seamless transition from design to implementation.
