Placements24, Paarl, is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to manage daily procurement activities and supplier relationships. You will handle purchase orders, maintain records, and contribute to cost-effective purchasing practices to support operations in the Paarl region.

The role requires strong organizational skills, experience with procurement processes, and proficiency in MS Excel; ERP experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or similar procurement role.
Strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
Good communication and negotiation skills.
Experience with ERP or accounting software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
Source suppliers, obtain quotes, and compare pricing for cost-effectiveness.
Maintain open communication with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and issue resolution.
Verify invoices against purchase orders and delivery receipts for accuracy.
Update and maintain procurement records and databases.
Assist in managing inventory levels for commonly used items.
