Job summary

The President Hotel in Cape Town seeks an experienced, commercially astute Head of Procurement to drive strategic sourcing, negotiations and cost control across all hotel procurement categories. You will lead a team, shape supplier partnerships and ensure value-driven purchasing aligned with operational needs.

Candidates should bring senior hotel procurement experience, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering savings while maintaining quality and service excellence in a high-volume

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Procurement, SCM, Business Admin or related field.
• CIPS or equivalent certification preferred; postgraduate qualification advantageous.
• Minimum 7 years' procurement/supply management experience, including 3+ years leading a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement for the hotel, including strategy, policies, and category plans.
• Partner with senior leaders to align procurement with budgets and hotel needs.
• Drive strategic sourcing, RFQs, tenders and supplier evaluations with focus on total cost and risk.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts; manage lifecycle of agreements.
• Oversee supplier due diligence, onboarding, master-data controls and KPI management.
• Develop supplier scorecards, conduct performance reviews and manage relationships.
• Ensure daily procurement aligns with budgets, stock controls and cash flow.
• Produce reporting on spend, contracts, savings and compliance.
• Promote ethical, local, B-BBEE and sustainable procurement practices.
