Job summary

Staff Unlimited Recruitment is seeking a proactive Key Accounts Manager (Container Road Freight) to oversee major client relationships and drive new business within the Western Cape. The role combines customer service, sales support, and logistics coordination across Paarl and Claremont offices.

You will manage forecasts, rate negotiations, onboarding, and credit processes while coordinating closely with Planning and Operations to ensure seamless service delivery and capacity optimization.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required.
• Tertiary qualification in Sales, Logistics or Operations.
• Experience in customer service, sales support, logistics or a similar service environment.
• Strong communication, relationship-management and customer-service skills.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to identify business opportunities.
• Strong organisation, follow-up, problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and general operational systems.
• A relevant qualification.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Ability and willingness to travel within the Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong customer relationships, manage queries and complaints, and ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
• Business Development and Account Growth: Identify new business opportunities, grow existing accounts and increase customer volumes.
• Forecasting and Commercial Planning: Manage customer forecasts, quotations, rates and commercial requirements while supporting effective capacity planning.
• Customer Onboarding and Credit: Coordinate customer onboarding, credit applications, documentation, account setup, rates and payment requirements.
• Operational and Capacity Coordination: Coordinate customer requirements with Planning and Operations, monitor capacity and proactively address potential service constraints.
• Service Execution and Problem Resolution: Monitor service delivery, communicate operational issues, identify potential failures and coordinate solutions through to resolution.
