Job summary

Sibanye-Stillwater is seeking a seasoned HRD Engineering Supervisor to govern Mining & Technical Training systems across Central and Operational Campuses. You will lead design, implementation, and continuous improvement of training processes to enhance competency and safety.

The role emphasizes stakeholder relations, governance, ESG alignment, quality management and compliance, while driving cost efficiency and a culture of high performance.

Qualifications

• 7 years minimum engineering experience with at least 5 years as a HRD Engineering Supervisor
• Be Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
• Have a Clear security screening record

Responsibilities

• Stakeholder Relations
• Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and crossfunctionally.
• Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders.
• Sourcing, contracting and negotiating with service providers.
• Liaising with the necessary entities on any environmental management related requirements and alignment where applicable.
• Collaborating with external service providers regarding the design and implementation of tools to enhance processes.
• Financial Management
• Prepare, monitor and control the finances of the Technical Training (Operations) to achieve Unit objectives
• Approve operational expenditure in line with the company’s approval frameworks
• Manage cost saving initiatives to reduce operational costs
• Corporate Governance and Business Ethics:
• Ensure adherence and compliance with legal requirements to support organisation's code of conduct, corporate governance and ethics guidelines
• Building a values-based organisational culture
• Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment.
• ESG Compliance
• Align to international responsible mining principles.
• SA Gold Operations: Align to World Gold Council (WGC) Responsible Gold Mining Principles (RGMPs).
• SA PGM Operations: Enhance Together for Sustainability (eTfS) initiative.
• US PGM Operations: Enhance together for ICCM principles.
• Technical Training Management
• Design, implement, maintain and continuously improve Technical Training systems, material, practices, methodology and procedures to the improve competency levels within the organisation
• Implement QCTO, SETA and QMS (ISO9001:2015) accreditation requirements to ensure compliance
• Compile Technical Training Reports (daily, weekly and monthly)
• Verify and ensure compliance regarding Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Reports (ATR), Social and Labour Plan (SLP) commitments and Employment Equity (EE) Page 2 of 5
• Establish and ensure strong internal and external stakeholder relations and delivery of quality customer service in the execution of HRD processes and related practices
• SHE Compliance
• Provide SHE leadership within the Technical Training (Operations) in line with departmental objectives to monitor compliance to Operational Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Participate in risk assessments and mining standards and implement appropriate action to eliminate/mitigate risk exposures
• Focus on safe production & operational excellence
• Focus on safety and health as well as operational excellence
• Improve our position on global industry cost curve
• People Management: Recruitment:
• Design the specific Operations’ discipline structure to support the achievement of the organisational mandate.
• Review and approve labour plans around operational targets. Performance Management:
• Provide leadership and inspire team members towards high performance.
• Manage performance and development of reporting staff.
• Set the specific Operations’ discipline performance targets and criteria that align with organisational goals for the team. Employee Relations:
• Drive the Organisational Culture and Climate within the Business Unit to ensure achievement of organisational objectives and employee safety. Training and Development:
• Drive a culture of Learning and Continuous Improvement within the specific Operation to ensure achievement of organisational objectives and safety.
• Mentor individuals to enhance the individual`s knowledge, skills, values and attitude.
• Create opportunities for development through participation and involvement in new business or technology enhancement projects for team members.
• Provide coaching to team members on an ongoing basis. Transformation & Sustainability:
• Drive a culture of Transformation within the specific Operation to ensure organisational sustainability.
• Quality Management System
• Manage documentation and records within the Learning and Development (L&D) Quality Management System (QMS) to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the Quality Management System
• Develop, manage and implement new policies and procedures, and maintain existing policies and procedures to comply with requirements of the L&D Quality Management System
