Job summary

Elev8 in Durbanville (Cape Town) seeks a technically strong and commercially minded Finance Manager to own the finance function across the group, ensuring strong reporting, controls and compliance while delivering meaningful commercial insight.

You will lead month-end, consolidation, budgeting and forecasting, manage a small team, and collaborate with senior management to drive profitability and robust financial planning.

Qualifications

• Professionally qualified CA(SA), CIMA or SAIPA.
• Registered as Commissioner of Oaths.
• At least 6 years' relevant finance experience, including leadership.
• Experience managing a small finance team.
• Experience across multiple entities / group structures.
• Strong month-end, management accounts, consolidation and intercompany transactions.
• Sound technical accounting knowledge, IFRS for SMEs.
• Strong understanding of SA financial regulations and compliance.
• Practical knowledge of SARS, VAT, PAYE and income tax.
• Proven budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling experience.
• Strong commercial and analytical ability, pricing, costing and profitability.
• Advanced Excel and systems capability.
• Hands-on, proactive and solutions-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Taking full accountability for the finance function across the group.
• Managing month-end, management accounts, financial reporting and group consolidation.
• Overseeing intercompany transactions and accurate group reporting.
• Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Developing financial models and providing meaningful analysis to senior management.
• Providing commercial insight into pricing, costing, margins and profitability.
• Ensuring compliance with statutory and tax obligations (SARS, VAT, PAYE, income tax).
• Managing audits and liaising with external auditors and advisers.
• Overseeing cash flow, treasury activities and financial risk.
• Reviewing and strengthening financial controls, processes and systems.
• Maintaining oversight of debtors, creditors and payroll.
• Leading, developing and mentoring the finance team.
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial performance and profitability.
• Providing hands-on technical support and resolving accounting issues.
