Placements24 is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Architect in Nelspruit (Mpumalanga) for a hybrid role. The candidate will design, build, and maintain secure IT systems, defining security strategies and ensuring secure embedding across the organization’s tech stack.

The role requires 8+ years in IT security, deep knowledge of NIST/ISO 27001, DevSecOps, and strong collaboration with IT and business teams. Exceptional communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years in IT security with focus on cybersecurity architecture and design.
• Experience designing secure solutions for on-premises, cloud (AWS, Azure), and hybrid environments.
• Knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, threat modeling, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Expertise in network, application, data security, IAM, and cryptography.
• Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, WAF, and endpoint security.
• Strong secure coding practices and DevSecOps principles.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder influence.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, or TOGAF desirable.
