Placements24 in Sandton, Gauteng, invites an experienced Information Security Architect to design and implement secure architectures across enterprise systems. This hybrid role requires on-site collaboration in the Sandton hub with remote analysis for focused work.

You will translate business needs into security designs, perform threat modeling, risk assessments, and ensure security is embedded in SDLC while aligning with NIST, ISO27001 and OWASP standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of information security experience with a focus on security architecture.
• Experience designing security architectures for complex enterprise environments, including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, OWASP).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-level security architectures for applications, networks, and cloud environments.
• Develop security standards, guidelines, and best practices for the organization.
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments to identify potential security weaknesses.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies to enhance the security posture.
• Collaborate with engineering, development, and operations teams to embed security into system designs.
• Develop security requirements for new projects and initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on security architecture matters.
• Create and maintain security architecture documentation.
• Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
• Ensure security architectures comply with relevant regulations and standards.
