Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Social Work Manager to oversee community services in the Rustenburg region. Lead a multidisciplinary team, shape strategic plans, and ensure adherence to social welfare legislation while delivering high-quality case management and counseling services.

You will build partnerships with government bodies, NGOs, and stakeholders, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work and SACSSP registration.
• 7+ years post-qualifying experience in social work, with at least 3 years in supervision/management.
• Experience managing community-based programs and teams.
• In-depth knowledge of social welfare systems, policies, and legislation in South Africa.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to build and manage partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in financial management and budgeting.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Rustenburg area and broader North West province.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor a team delivering community-based services in Rustenburg.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate strategic plans and programs to address community needs.
• Ensure compliance with social welfare legislation, policies, and ethical standards.
• Oversee the effective delivery of case management, counseling, and support services.
• Foster and maintain strong working relationships with government departments, NGOs, and other stakeholders in the North West province.
• Manage program budgets, resources, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement quality assurance frameworks to ensure service excellence.
• Represent the organization in relevant forums and advocate for community needs.
• Facilitate training and professional development for the team.
• Handle complex cases and provide clinical supervision where necessary.
• Monitor service delivery trends and identify areas for service improvement and innovation.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting on program activities and outcomes.
