Job summary

Chainlink SA in Cape Town is seeking a reliable Storeman / Stock Controller to manage day-to-day receiving, issuing, storage and control of stock in a manufacturing environment.

You will maintain accurate stock records, perform regular stock counts and liaise with Production and Procurement to ensure stock availability. The role requires attention to detail, strong numerical ability and the ability to work under pressure; immediate availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Experience as Storeman / Stock Controller or similar role.
• Manufacturing or warehouse experience is advantageous.
• Good computer literacy and administration skills.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• ERP/stock control system experience is advantageous.
• Must be able to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Receive and check incoming stock against delivery notes and purchase orders.
• Issue raw materials, components and other stock to production.
• Maintain accurate stock records and capture stock movements.
• Conduct regular stock counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or replenishment needs.
• Ensure correct labelling, storage and organisation of stock.
• Prepare stock for production, dispatch and collection.
• Maintain documentation for stock received, issued and returned.
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries when required.
• Maintain a clean, safe stores area and liaise with teams on stock requirements.

INTRODUCTION

Our client is looking for a reliable and organised Storeman / Stock Controller to manage the day-to-day receiving, issuing, storage and control of stock within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate must have good attention to detail, accurate administrative skills and the ability to support production requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive and check incoming stock against delivery notes and purchase orders.
• Issue raw materials, components, consumables and other stock to production.
• Maintain accurate stock records and capture stock movements.
• Conduct regular stock counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or replenishment requirements.
• Ensure correct labelling, storage and organisation of stock.
• Prepare stock for production, dispatch and collection.
• Maintain proper documentation for stock received, issued and returned.
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries when required.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe stores area.
• Liaise with Production, Procurement and other departments regarding stock requirements.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Previous experience as a Storeman, Stock Controller or similar role.
• Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or warehouse environment will be advantageous.
• Good computer literacy and administration skills.
• Good numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Experience with stock control systems or ERP systems will be advantageous.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
• Must be immediately available.
