Job summary

Chainlink Recruitment is seeking a Storeman/Stock Controller for a permanent role in Airport City, Cape Town. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day stock receiving, issuing, storage and control within a manufacturing environment, ensuring accurate records and timely replenishment to support production.

Applicants should have Grade 12, prior store or stock control experience, and strong administration skills. Immediate availability is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receive and check stock against delivery notes and POs.
• Issue materials to production and manage stock movements.
• Maintain accurate stock records and conduct regular counts.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or replenishment needs.
• Ensure proper labeling, storage and documentation of stock.
• Assist with loading/unloading deliveries when required.

Storeman / Stock Controller

INTRODUCTION

Our client is looking for a reliable and organised Storeman / Stock Controller to manage the day-to-day receiving, issuing, storage and control of stock within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate must have good attention to detail, accurate administrative skills and the ability to support production requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive and check incoming stock against delivery notes and purchase orders.

• Issue raw materials, components, consumables and other stock to production.

• Maintain accurate stock records and capture stock movements.

• Conduct regular stock counts and investigate discrepancies.

• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or replenishment requirements.

• Ensure correct labelling, storage and organisation of stock.

• Prepare stock for production, dispatch and collection.

• Maintain proper documentation for stock received, issued and returned.

• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries when required.

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe stores area.

• Liaise with Production, Procurement and other departments regarding stock requirements.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 / Matric.

• Previous experience as a Storeman, Stock Controller or similar role.

• Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or warehouse environment will be advantageous.

• Good computer literacy and administration skills.

• Good numerical ability and attention to detail.

• Experience with stock control systems or ERP systems will be advantageous.

• Ability to work accurately under pressure.

• Reliable, organised and able to work independently.

• Must be immediately available.
