P&L is seeking an Assistant Retail Operation Manager for internal applications to safeguard market share and drive profit within the store. This role demands leadership across stock, cash, HR, safety, and customer service, with a focus on efficient delivery and aggressive cost controls.

The candidate must have Grade 12 with relevant management experience, be proficient in MS Office, possess a valid driver’s license, and demonstrate strong business acumen under pressure.

Formación

• Retail management experience required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Grade 12 with at least 3 years related Retail Management experience or 5 years related Retail Management experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must have well developed Business Acumen.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Must be computer literate (Basic computer literacy).
• Must have strong Leadership Skills.
• Must have strong Administrative Skills.
• Must have own transport and cell phone.
• Must have sound knowledge of Health and Safety aspects in line with local OHSA and/or neighbouring Countries legislation.
• Must have strong Human Resources Management Skills.

Responsabilidades

• Issuing and follow up of quotations to generate sales.
• Quote process and control Special Orders.
• Reading of building plans and ensuring quotations are correct within timeframe.
• Manage the telephone, answer, and return calls, ensure follow ups.
• Conduct Competitor Analysis for store competitiveness.
• Communicate Bulk Deposit transfers to Customers.
• Promote Loyalty Programmes (VIC and Charge Card Customers).
• Deliveries: manage delivery service and correct rates; on-time dispatch; communicate delays and arrange alternatives.
• Asset Control - Stock: manage shrinkage, PIC, stock-takes, stock movement, damaged/obsolete/slow-moving stock, security improvements.
• Customer Service: implement and monitor Customer Service Strategy; reliable prompt delivery; grow customer base; range improvements; action on surveys; schedule staff for service excellence.
• Asset Control – Cash: manage Debtors, Petty Cash, daily banking, shorts/overs, credit cards.
• Asset Control – Fixed Assets: maintain racks, signage, forklift, generator, IT equipment, safe/vault, asset register items.
• Human Resource Management: recruit and induct employees; training and development; succession planning; manpower planning; employee relations; performance management; keep Digital Cabinet up to date.
• Store Safety (OHASA) Standards: OHSA compliance, checklists, safety reps, incident records, forklift licensing, safe conditions.
• Profitability: manage store to financial model, budgets; P&L discipline; corrective actions where necessary.
• Leadership: take the lead, inspire, delegate, recognize good performance.
• Result-oriented: set goals, find solutions, finish on time.
• Planning: organize tasks, set timeframes, prioritize; ensure resources.
• Delegating: clear tasks, provide space, check progress.
• Performing under pressure: maintain performance; handle setbacks.
