Job summary

Saint-Gobain Group is seeking an inventory management professional to strategically manage and control stock levels across plants. The role requires collaboration with production and logistics teams to optimize stock profiles and ensure data accuracy in SAP.

You will drive improvements in stock policies, perform cycle counts, and maintain safety stock levels while coaching warehouse staff and ensuring 100% accuracy in putaway and picking.

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement: a Supply Chain degree or equivalent, plus 3–5 years in supply chain disciplines.
  • Strong exposure to stock management processes redesign and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and strong problem-solving abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Apply continuous improvement principles to inventory management policies aligned with business requirements.
  • Measure and drive performance improvements such as stock accuracy targets (SRA).
  • Ensure inventory holding policies and processes are documented and followed.
  • Control FIFO for RM and FG stock.
  • Review and audit inventory master data accuracy.
  • Report slow-moving stock and coordinate actions with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate physical inventory cycles and counts (cycle, month-end, year-end).
  • Establish safety stock levels by product and location.
  • Provide guidance on inventory placement to Operations and Logistics.
  • Coach warehouses on stock management and process improvements on-site.
  • Conduct random audits on stock putaway and picking for 100% accuracy.
  • Monitor restricted stock to prevent dispatch to customers; isolate on the floor and move to restricted stock in SAP.

Job description

The role will primarily focus on the strategic management and control of the business inventory , ensuring optimal stock levels for sales and production while working with the respective plants on their stock profiles

  • Apply continuous improvement principles to inventory management policies and procedures aligned with the business requirements.
  • Measure and drive performance improvement in key operational and profitability metrics such as stock record accuracy (SRA) – Target 99% stock accuracy.
  • Ensure inventory holding policies, procedures and processes are documented.
  • Effective control of FIFO principles and practices (RM and FG).
  • Review and audit inventory master data accuracy.
  • Report and expand slow moving stock and ensure action (sell / scrap) is taken by relevant stakeholders.
  • ABC/XYZ analysis and implementation
  • Engage, present and gain agreement from relevant business stakeholders on inventory management strategies.
  • Coordinate planning and execution of physical inventory and maintenance item counts (Cycle counts, Month end counts and year end counts)
  • Establish and manage product and location specific safety stock levels.
  • Provide support and guidance on the placement (location) of inventory to the Operations and Logistics team.
  • Spend time in warehouses to coach on the topic, physically review and validate, clean where needed, recommend improved processes / management action.
  • Conduct random audits on stock putaway & picking : 100% accuracy
  • Monitor and maintain all quality restricted stock to ensure that it is not picked and dispatched to customers.
  • Ensure all quality restricted stock is isolated on the floor and moved to restricted ware (Quality) in SAP.
  • All such duties and/or activities assigned by management/board as and when required.

A min requirement of a Supply Chain degree or equivalent min 3 - 5 years relevant experience in supply chain disciplines. Computer Literacy (specifically advanced SAP ,MS Office: Excel) Your exposure stock management process redesign and written and verbal communication skills will ensure success in this role. Continuous improvement, Strong problem solving skills is a must have & Inventory management and stock management processes.
