Job summary

Rhodes University invites suitably qualified candidates to join the People and Culture Division as Staff Wellness Officer (Grade 11). The role coordinates the institutional wellness strategy and manages the wellness service provider relationship.

You will work with the Total Rewards Manager to communicate wellness interventions to staff and ensure activities stay within budget. This is a permanent post, with potential for fixed-term options as required.

Qualifications

• A relevant B. Degree at the NQF level 7 (ideally with psychology, social sciences, social work, and/or human resources) with approximately 3 years’ relevant experience.
• Experience coordinating and implementing staff wellness initiatives and activities.
• Project management experience preferred or high level of organisation and coordination.
• At least 2 years of experience with spreadsheets, in particular Excel; Advanced Excel is an advantage.
• At least 1 year of experience in data analysis, interpretation and reporting with high accuracy.
• Counselling and/or facilitation/training experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement the institutional wellness strategy.
• Manage the relationship with the campus wellness service provider.
• Ensure staff are aware of wellness interventions and initiatives.
• Provide back-up support for Remuneration and Benefits Officer.
