Job summary

iqbusiness' iqx Technology Division in Sandton, Gauteng is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our growing technology team. The role focuses on building reliable, scalable systems and improving performance in a fast-paced environment.

This 6-month contract may convert to a permanent position based on performance. Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, Python/Java/Go, and containers (Docker, Kubernetes), plus strong troubleshooting, communication,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience as Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
Hands-on with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and container tech (Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement automation for system management and monitoring.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure reliable releases.
Design, maintain and optimize scalable infrastructure environments.
Monitor system performance and proactively identify improvement opportunities.
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues.
Create and maintain runbooks and operational documentation.
Drive continuous improvements in system availability, performance and operations.
