Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our fully remote engineering team. Based in Mahikeng, you will ensure availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of production systems through automation and expert troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or a related systems engineering role.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Go, Bash) and automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and highly available production systems and infrastructure.
• Develop automation tools and scripts to streamline deployment, monitoring, and operational tasks.
• Proactively identify and address potential system weaknesses and implement solutions to prevent outages.
• Establish and track key reliability metrics (SLOs, SLIs), and drive improvements to meet targets.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production incidents, performing root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure systems are designed for reliability and operability.
