Job summary

Placements24 in Port Elizabeth is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join the technical team, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of critical systems. You will build scalable infrastructure, automate tasks, and support incident response across deployments.

Work with development and operations to implement monitoring, resilience, and optimized cloud-based services using Docker, Kubernetes, and major cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of networking, operating systems, and database management.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable systems and infrastructure.
• Develop and deploy automation tools and scripts to streamline operational tasks.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
• Respond to and resolve production incidents, performing root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with software development teams to ensure system resilience and performance.
• Implement and manage robust monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions.
