Job summary

MRI Software in Cape Town is seeking an Application Support Analyst who can independently analyse complex issues and deliver data-driven solutions to clients. You will own complex, database-driven support cases, diagnose issues at the source, and ensure long-term, scalable resolutions while meeting SLAs.

We operate a hybrid model with 3 days working from home per week, and this role is based in our Cape Town office. Fluency in English and strong SQL skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-4+ years’ experience in application or technical support within enterprise software.
• Experience with SQL
• Strong understanding of relational database design and data structures
• Ability to work with large datasets and extract meaningful insights
• Strong problem-solving skills with a logical, structured approach
• Ability to clearly communicate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders
• Fluent in English
• Basic Accounting Terminology (Advantageous)

Responsibilities

• Analyse complex data-related problems using custom-built SQL statements and queries.
• Act as a technical escalation point for advanced database and application issues.
• Perform detailed root cause analysis, identifying issues within database structures, queries, or data integrity.
• Review and improve existing queries to enhance performance, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Work directly with clients to gather requirements and translate them into solutions.
• Ensure delivery against SLAs and KPIs, maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
• Contribute to documentation, including troubleshooting steps, and best practices.
• Participate in UAT, validating data fixes and database-related changes.
