Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Sports Event Coordinator to join the team in Midrand, Gauteng. You will drive planning, execution, and wrap-up of diverse sporting events and activations throughout the year, delivering memorable participant and spectator experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level qualification in sports/event-related field is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in sports event coordination or management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Budgeting and financial management understanding.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed project plans for all assigned sporting events, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Liaise with athletes, sponsors, vendors, and venue managers for seamless execution.
• Coordinate all logistical aspects: venue booking, equipment, catering, transport.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies to maximize attendance and engagement.
• Oversee on-site management, staff supervision, crisis management, and attendee satisfaction.
• Manage budgets, track expenses, and produce financial reports.
• Conduct post-event analysis and gather feedback for future improvements.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and partners for value.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations.
• Stay updated on industry trends in sports event management.
