Placements24 is seeking a Sports Event Coordinator to manage and execute a variety of sporting events in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. The role requires hands-on organization, supplier liaison, and stakeholder coordination from planning through post-event evaluation.

You will oversee budgets, timelines, and on-site operations, ensuring high standards of attendee experience and safety. A strong sports events background and flexibility for evenings/weekends are essential.

Formación

• Diploma or Degree in Event Management, Sports Management, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years experience coordinating or managing sports events or large-scale events.
• Proven organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Experience with budget management and financial tracking.
• Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, organize, and execute a diverse range of sports events, including local tournaments, championships, and community sports days.
• Coordinate all logistical aspects of events: venue selection, setup, equipment, staffing, and catering.
• Manage event budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial targets are met.
• Develop event timelines and work plans, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Liaise with participants, teams, officials, volunteers, and sponsors to ensure clear communication and smooth operations.
• Develop and implement marketing and promotional plans to maximize attendance and participation.
• Oversee on-site event management, troubleshoot issues, and ensure a positive attendee experience.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring service quality.
• Conduct post-event evaluations, gathering feedback and preparing detailed reports for future planning.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations for event venues.
