This hybrid role requires coordinating with site teams, suppliers and transport providers, developing efficient transport plans, tracking shipments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving cost efficiency while minimizing downtime.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end logistics for specialized mining equipment, parts, and materials, including oversized and heavy-lift cargo.
• Develop and implement efficient transportation plans, selecting appropriate carriers and modes of transport.
• Manage and track shipments from origin to destination with real-time updates for stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all transport regulations, permits, and route approvals.
• Liaise with site managers, procurement teams, and external vendors to forecast needs and plan logistics.
• Negotiate rates and contracts with transport providers to optimize costs and service quality.
• Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.
• Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, costs, and performance metrics.
• Conduct site visits or liaise remotely to understand operational requirements and challenges in the Northern Cape.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics department to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.

A major mining group operating in the **Northern Cape** requires a highly organized and experienced Specialized Mining Logistics Coordinator to manage the complex supply chain operations supporting its various mine sites. This role will focus on the efficient movement of specialized equipment, parts, and materials crucial for mining operations, often involving oversized or time-sensitive cargo. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing logistics strategies, liaising with suppliers, transport providers, and site-based teams to ensure seamless delivery and minimize operational downtime.
