Placements24 is seeking a Community Energy Project Coordinator in Soweto to support development and implementation of community-based renewable energy projects, coordinating with residents, leaders and technical teams to manage timelines, communications and resources.

The role focuses on fostering local engagement, ensuring projects meet community needs, and delivering sustainable energy solutions in Gauteng, with flexible arrangements and a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Environmental Studies, Project Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in project coordination, community engagement, or sustainable development.
• Strong understanding of community dynamics and experience working with diverse groups.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with renewable energy concepts is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning and execution of community renewable energy projects (solar installations, energy efficiency programs).
• Engage with community members, local stakeholders, and leaders to foster participation and gather input.
• Manage project communication channels, ensuring timely dissemination of information and feedback collection.
• Assist in scheduling project activities, coordinating site visits, and managing project resources.
• Support the development of project documentation, including reports and presentations.
• Liaise with technical teams to ensure designs align with community needs and local conditions.
